  • When will my call or email be returned?
    • Generally we will return your call or email within two business days of your initial contact.

  • What services do you perform?
    • Garden Gate has been designing, building and maintaining gardens since 1964 in the Washington/Baltimore area. Find out more about our Services.

  • Can you give me an estimate over the phone?
    • Sometimes a “rough ballpark range” can be discussed, however, generally the design consultant needs to see your yard and discuss the scope of the project with you in person. Find out more about Investing Wisely.

  • Is there a charge for an initial visit?

  • Can you come by without anyone being at home?

  • Do you have a minimum job amount or size?

  • How soon can you start my project?
    • It depends on many factors. Work is scheduled upon receipt of deposit. Find out more about our Timeframes.

  • Do you employ landscape architects?
    • Our award-winning designers are specifically trained and experienced with residential landscape design. Find our more about our Landscape Designers.

  • I have a deadline for my work to be completed. Can you help me?
    • It is possible since we try hard to accommodate all of our customers. When we can do your project will depend on our backlog and the type of project you need accomplished. Find out more about our Timeframes.

  • Can a designer come out to see me on the weekends or evenings?
    • Each design consultant maintains his or her own schedule. Find our more about our Landscape Designers.

  • I would like someone to come see me tomorrow because I will be home tomorrow. Can someone be at my house tomorrow?
    • If you are interested in maintenance work and you are located in a neighborhood that will be visited by our GardenCare Manager, it is potentially possible. Find out more about GardenCare Manager Peter Gibbs.

    • If you are interested in a landscape project, it is to your benefit to first discuss your project with a design consultant over the phone and to review and complete our landscape questionnaire prior to an initial meeting. Find out more about our Timeframes.

  • Can I implement my garden in phases?
    • Yes, most definitely. Our design consultants are very experienced in helping customers who wish to do their landscaping in phases.

  • How much do you charge for a clean up?
    • It is impossible to quote a fee for a clean up without visiting your site since the fee will vary based on the scope or work and detailing that you desire.

  • Do you mow lawns?

  • What if I want to only use organic materials?

  • Do you charge a design fee and how is it applied to the project?
    • We do charge for time to design as part of the Garden Gate design/build process. Find out more about Our Process.

  • What is your warranty?
    • We warrant our work for one year from the date of installation.

  • Do you do the work yourself or do you use subcontractors?
    • It depends mostly on the scope of work or a particular project element. When needed, we use superior craftsman with whom we have long-standing relationships.

  • Who supervises the project?
    • Garden Gate is a single source provider. In addition to your landscape design consultant, our production supervisors and well-experienced foremen work together to ensure a beautiful project that will please you for years to come. Find out more about Our Process and Our People.
